I discovered this hidden bar when I first moved to Eleuthera in 2020. I lived about an hour away south but was told that this bar was worth checking out and it definitely was! Nestled in central Eleuthera this picturesque bar and restaurant captures the essence of how an island restaurant and bar can be with a little extra thought and intention. It is constructed to flow with the beach’s shoreline and not against it. The decor consists of items that would’ve washed up ashore such as driftwood, fishing nets, snorkel gear, conch shells and buoys to name a few. As you enter you are greeted with natural hanging foliage and a leafy footpath that leads you to the deck.
I can’t say enough about the view at this venue. With a drink in hand I just stand on the balcony over-looking the water and drink it all in-the view and my drink. The last time I was there, there was a man walking the beach buck naked and honestly I couldn’t blame him. There is something freeing about Eleuthera and the closer you are to its’ turquoise clear waters you can’t help but care less and less about everything other than that immediate moment.
Every time I visit Da Deck Bar & Grill I’ve never seen more than two persons with the exception of the proprietor and his employee. The proprietor Mark has a big presence that makes your visit an unforgettable one! His establishment is pristine every single time I go with even cleaner bathrooms at the entrance for your convienience. I highly recommend the Mahi Burger and his Rum Punch.
The balcony is the best location take IG worthy photos because the sun hits it perfectly. If you plan to visit between Nov-Feb bring a sweater just in case. It can get really breezy during the ‘Bahamian winter months’.
Oh! Be sure to ask Mark what their nickname is for the guy that walks the beach naked…cover the children’s ears looool
